The Design

The obverse design depicts a magnificent lion wearing a crown. The lion’s face has been meticulously minted, down to the individual whiskers. The Aleph Tav Symbol תא on the lion’s crown reveals the lion’s identity as the Lion of Judah: The strength of the Leader is the Sign of the Covenant. Inscribed on the band of the crown is “ALL YOUR WORDS ARE TRUE”. Below the lion are the words “ONE TROY OUNCE .9995 FINE PLATINUM.”

The reverse design is remarkably similar to the previous Roaring Lion Coins. Like past years, the 2022 Roaring Lion is backed by Niue. This means that Queen Elizabeth’s effigy appears in the center of the reverse, and the coin has a face value of 250 Dollars. The word “NIUE” is at the top of the coin, “250 DOLLARS” is to her right, “ELIZABETH II” is to her left, and “2022” is below her.
